  i recently heard angelo catanzaro, a rather prominent figure in the organization .. a long-time district overseer and a favorite of knorr's, died recently.

  there was some indication that he and his wife figured out ttatt in their latter years and turned "apostate"... .

  does anyone out there know what happened to them?

  Manipulation of child minds

  today i read a comment on my blog about an image found in a 1958 watchtower publication titled from paradise lost to paradise regained.

  it reminded me of what went through my mind back in those years.

  watchtower meeting agendas were notoriously boring with the result of children (including teenagers) spending their time looking at pictures in great detail.

  As a Work of Literature The Bible is Just Dreadful

  of course it's easy to criticise the bible for all manner of serious flaws, but it fails on a more basic level.. it is just a terrible piece of literature.. this piece on "southern skeptic" is well worth a read.. god is a terrible writer....

  I've thought to myself, "Well, at least the bible is a stunning piece of literature. . . ."

  I have also appreciated Robert M Price's "take" on the bible, and even Jesus himself (most likely all made-up crap).

  well another big bad elder here just wanting to say sorry.. i'm sorry that so many were treated like crap, and shown that god's love is not to be found around jehovah's witnesses.

  i'm sorry that inadvertently i've likely taught many to judge and as such see that racism permeates every corner of the jw world, else why else would someone be of the world, or even inactive.

  i'm sorry i sat in on a jc, and voted to df.

  WT Society Makes Light of Child Abuse Crimes by Portraying them as Cartoons

  i commented on this on another thread- but i believe this has enough importance to create a thread about this situation in and of itself.

  at the current district convention as you know the wt society released a " sophie & caleb " video allegedly warning parents about the dangers of child abuse.

  they don't really use the words " child abuse " in the video - but just say if " someone tries to touch you in a manner you aren't comfortable with " and portray it as a cartoon !

  You have to be fucking kidding me.

  So, basically they're blaming the child. His CONSCIENCE wasn't working properly and he submitted to a molester. Fuckin unreal. . . .

  Now if you don't see it, think of it this way: if this was a video of two teens on a date, and one teen starts putting the moves on the other, IT IS YOUR CONSCIENCE THAT KICKS IN AND SAYS THIS IT WRONG!!!! I get that. BUT. . .

  We're talking about CHILDREN AND CHILD MOLESTERS YOU SHITHEADS!!!!!

  Consciene has not a godammned fucking thing to do with it.

  BTW - I said nothing to my wife about this video before she watched. Her fuckin jaw dropped to the floor when they said YOUR CONSCIENCE WILL PROTECT YOU.

  Someone should make this available to the media. It's freaking unreal.
